The Sammy Bartolotti "Helldiver" Award
The first boat driver each day to break water and be flipped out of, or fall out of their boat in a race event is presented with the “HELLDIVER” Award.
The Helldiver award was sponsored for 43 years by Sammy Bartolotti of “Sammy’s Billiards” in Newberg. Sammy passed away in 1992 and the Newberg Boat Club has renamed the Helldiver award in his honor. The award sponsorship had been taken over by NEWBERG VOLUNTEER FIRE ASSOCIATION, who have helped provide the fire equipment and Rescue Personnel for our racers over the years. Since TVF&R has taken over our Fire Department and Rescue services, sponsorship of the Helldiver trophies has passed to Krohn's Appliance
